Prisoners
In BCOF it talks about how the prisoners were treated poorly in the South. There was some debate on if the mistreatment was deliberate. It was interesting to find out that their mistreatments was probably NOT deliberate, but the South could not even feed their own soldiers or civilians. How could they even think about feeding their prisoners? I don't know why, but this was interesting to me. It gave me more perspective on the whole war. It also helped me see the 'other point of view' a little better.

A few years ago, while on a military training class, I dodged the coarse and drove to Andersonville, GA.. People in the town were real defensive of Capt Wirz where there was a statue in the middle of town. There is a spring in the prison compound called Providence Spring, named when a lightning bolt created a much needed water supply. They have a small POW museum on the grounds, also. Holes were still visible(fenced in) where prisoners tried to tunnel out. Cemetary was real sad yet interesting.
