The Killer Angels

I have really enjoyed reading this book. I found that at the beginning I had to keep going back and forth between between the maps, character summaries and what was currently happening in the book. However, I have found it very interesting. I keep wanting to cheer for the side I am reading about as I hear about their own personal emotions, etc. It is very interesting how both side felt that it was right and that God was on their side...and it was in His hands. War is hard.

  1. I also found the maps to be invaluable in helping me visualize the events discussed in the book. I enjoyed it so much that I order the other two in the series Gods and Generals and The Last Full Measure. I am excited to start reading them.

  2. I was also surprised to be cheering for both sides. I was way more sympathetic to the South than I thought I would be. I guess I've always seen myself and my ancestors as outside of the conflict, since we(Utah)were only territorial at this time in history. Like Larry, I also had to know the rest of the story and have read Jeff Shaara's bookends to his father's tremendous book.
